That is needed when you make a wash for fermentation. Turbo Carbon Turbo Carbon is designed to work with our range of Turbo Yeasts and is added to a wash straight after pitching yeast. It’s internal pore structure removes impurities that are not removed by post-distillation filtration, aiding in producing a cleaner, smoother tasting neutral spirit. Net Weight:260g Fermentation Time: • At 20°C (68°F): 24 hours • At 30°C (86°F): 22 hours Yield (approx.): • With 6 kg (13.2 lb) Turbo Sugar using the T500 Reflux Condenser: 3.6 L (0.95 US Gal) @ 93% ABV (186 Proof) • With 6 kg (13.2 lb) Dextrose using the T500 Reflux Condenser: 3.8 L (1 US Gal) @ 93% ABV (186 Proof) Alcotec 24 Hour Turbo Yeast Making alcohol in 24 hours Alcotec 24 turbo yeast will go from zero to 14% alcohol by volume in around 24 hours if ambient temperature is right so you don’t overheat it. Because of the very powerful fermentation we recommend not to use any obstructions such as airlock etc. Temperature Because of the internal heat generated during the explosive fermentation, it is important to avoid too high ambient room temperature. If you have 18-22 C that will work fine, outside of this range you may get fermentation slowing down a little so you don’t finish in 24 hours. The best liquid temperature is 25C but it is of course very difficult to control this due to the variations in energy released during fermentation. Alcotec 48 Hour Turbo Yeast With the use of Alcotec 48 turbo yeast (TY) you can decide when you start fermentation whether you want to make moderate amount of alcohol and fast (14% in 2 days), or high levels of alcohol over a little longer period (20% in 5 days). It simply depends on the amount of white sugar (sucrose) you add – 240kgs per m3 for the fast, lower alcohol version and 320 kgs per m3 for the high alcohol version in 5-6 days. For the consumer product, it is either 6kgs per 25L or 8kgs per 25L. Alcotec 48 contains the highly active Alcotec Ethanol TT yeast mixed with the Alcotec Nutrient for high alcohol fermenations. Turbo yeast is commonly abbreviated to TY. 48hr turbo yeast is the most commonly used type. Alcotec 48 (TY) dose Normally 5.4kgs per m3 for high alcohol fermentation of a sucrose wash. If there is anything nutritious present – fruit, molasses, grains, it is possible to reduce a little but this needs tweaking or each case and we can not give any general recommendation here. Samuel Willards 24 Hour Turbo Yeast This 24 hour variant of Samuel Willard’s Turbo Yeast can produce 14% ABV in 24 hours from 6kg of sugar or 20% ABV in 4-5 days from 8kg of sugar. This yeast is suitable for general use where extremes in temperature are NOT an issue.
