Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE CENTRAL GLASS COLONIAL NIGHTS PATTERN SOUVENIR WITH GOLD DECOR TOOTHPICK HOLDER This is really a charming little eight paneled “colonial” pattern toothpick holder. In the book mentioned below the author has named this pattern “Colonial Nights”. It is made in crystal or clear colored glass and decorated with hand-painted gold trim to the top rim and has the hand painted words in gold “Souv…r” and “B…e..…r”, which have mostly been worn away over time and are not completely legible to me. From what I have read this would have been made by one of three companies: Ohio Flint Glass, Jefferson Glass or Central Glass, so it is debatable as to who actually made this toothpick holder. Regardless, it is a very nice quality piece of pressed glass made in a crystal or clear colored glass. Please be sure to read the “Age and Condition” paragraphs below. This was part of my mother’s toothpick holder collection and according to her records she acquired this one in 1980. I do not see this pattern pictured in the book Glass Toothpick Holders: Second Edition by Neila & Tom Bredehoft and Jo & Bob Sanford. However, it is shown in the book 1000 Toothpick Holders: A Collectors Guide by William Heacock as Photo # 775. This is a beautiful example of this beautiful toothpick holder! I do my best to describe all items as accurately as possible and to the best of my ability. Some of my photos may be somewhat lighter or darker than actual to better show detail or color. It is in excellent to near mint original condition. Please look closely at the photos as they are an important part of my description of this item. There are no chips, flea bites, scratches, cracks, hairline or repairs to the glass. There is wear to the gold trim on the top rim and the gold souvenir writing is mostly worn away – see the photos. There are also signs of use or wear to the underside of the foot consistent with the age of this piece. Please keep in mind these photos can be blown up at least 8X-10X times normal, so anything you see will look 8X-10X times larger in the photos than it really is. Please note: if you see a dark spot in the photos, it is from my camera and is not a mark on the piece. It will be either just to the right of center towards the bottom or slightly above center on the right side of the photo. APPROXIMATE DIMENSIONS: About 2” (5.1 cm) across and sits about 2.5” (6.4 cm) off the table. APPROXIMATE WEIGHT: About 3.625 ounces (105 grams).
