PYREX has been produced in 3 Major Categories: CLEAR (1915 -); Flameware (1936-79); Coloured (Clear and Milk Glass) (1947-) …Offered here is a – RETRO-PYREX – Smoke-Amber Tinted-Glass, Medium-Size, Round Nesting Mixing-Bowl – with Fired-on Festive-Harvest Graphics – pattern released in 1988 – of the PYREX Designs Line Style – in MOST-excellent barely-condition. Not sure if the smoke-amber tinted-glass bowls were included in PYREX Designs Line, but their form and style were the same.ALL glass and graphics surfaces are Highly-Glossy, shiny and clean. There are NO chips, cracks, nor flea bites – NO Significant scratches nor rubs; no stains nor hazing – just some fine scratches, more towards the interior bottom of the bowl and a little rub-wear on the base seat rim. This Mixing-Bowl has a VERY FRESH, CLEAN look to it. The Festive Harvest fired-on graphics are Pink-Beige in colour – they are crisp, clear and complete, no fade – with only minimal fleck colour loss, minimal scratches. They depict trailing leaves, stems, flowers, birds and butterflies – coloured-in fully or stippled to give the effect of shading or of more than one colour. The graphics pattern is fired onto two sides of this Medium Mixing-Bowl.This Mixing-Bowl is embossed on the base – “323 PYREX “circled R”; 1.5 L; CORNING N.Y. U.S.A.; 19; FOR OVEN & MICROWAVE; NO STOVETOP OR BROILER”.This Medium-Size Mixing-Bowl measures – 8 1/2″ in diameter across the top edge; 3 1/2″ in height; 3 3/4″ in diameter across the base seat-rim. SOME INTERESTING INFORMATION –A few lines of CLEAR Round Nesting Mixing-Bowls were introduced as the Opal-White Product Line was phased out ~ 1986 and onward. The Pyrex Designs Style came in – 1 – Solid-Coloured Nesting Clear-Bottom Mixing-Bowls; 2 – Smoke Coloured Tinted Clear Glass – offered with and without graphics… possibly more ….PYREX Designs Product Line -Coloured, clear-bottomed PYREX – was called the “PYREX Designs Product Line”.They featured solid colour(s) over clear Pyrex with the bottoms left clear; “consumer-preferred” rims; available as 300-SERIES – 3 piece (322, 323, 325) or 400-SERIES – 4 (322, 323, 325, 326) piece sets (no 324 exists) – in 16+ different, “Grouping-Named” Versions, colour combinations – where 3 and 4-bowl sets, of the same “colour combination group”, often had different colour sequences. These bowls all appear to have an embossed, concentric-ring pattern on their bases.The capacities are as follows – SMALL – 322 -1QT, 1L; MEDIUM – 323 – 1 1/2QT, 1 1/2L; LARGE – 325 – 2 1/2QT, 2 1/2L; EXTRA-LARGE – 326 – 4QT, 4L.Some colour versions were ONE-tone, seen inside & out; others were TWO-toned (one outer tone and a different inner tone, seen through the clear glass).The base foot of these bowls is ample & clear. All bowls had reverse-embossed concentric info on their base’s outer edge, concentric circles to the center of two dots.The rims were flat on top, 1/2″ wide, and curved under beneath for a secure grasp.PYREX Designs Product Line Style Continued – In the 1990’s and into the 2000’s, pyrex released a number of their products in a variety of colours – cobalt, amethyst, cranberry, spring-green, peacock-blue, smoke-gray and a blush series of pink, green and blue as well. The Designs Product Line Style of Mixing-Bowls were also available in tinted-pyrex – with or without applied graphics.
