My very 1st rc was tamiya king cab, then I went the following year or 2 the rc10 truck but at time I lived in nyc and there wasn’t anywhere safe that I could play with it, back then there was no internet, no tracks, and no one else in ,y neighborhood had this hobby. This is where I got the 2nd rc107001 that’s complete in pictures. I went all out and bought it new with the top of the line accessories according to that magazine rc world I think. I read those mags quite a bit as well as advise from the shop, so after paying, I paid the owners son to build it for me. I wanted this 1 to be perfect. I also took the body to this airbrush artist and left it with him for a couple days and after all my parts that were ordered came in it was done, they were proud at the hobby store it was on display. I would leave in Florida but I would detail clean it after every outing, the cover went missing, it’s been stored in a Florida attic way over 20 years, 9/11 was far from happening.they sold house In fLORIDA, they didn’t find the remote , battery and charger as well as the cover. I purposely stored them separately so my family wouldn’t know what’s what but I couldn’t go myself but I was excited to see this truck again. Every part is original. The missing pcs of the skeleton chassis were picked off by my cousin here in NY, cause my true car was in Florida and I was cool with it. Like I said I ran it on vacation for back to back summers, time passed ,got older, here it is today. It was an airtronic gun remote that could be modified for left hand use, I also added a novak ROOSTER speed control just so I can go reverse and battery packs back then were standard nickel cadmium, I bought lithium ion matched cells which was new at time. I hope you enjoyed this origin story, I tell it so that the next owner keeps it alive and treats it well.i hope it means as much as it did to me to the next person.Oh and the cover painted body was inspired by actual rc10 in the mags at the time, it was based in white with fire flames from the front over the hood and stopped before windshield, then there’s was blue splash waves and bubbles towards the back. So think of it as running through a rain storm and seconds later your running through a fire pit. It’s no where to be found but that’s everything if I can find any pics I’ll post them.
