I am selling a Visconti Divina Desert Spring oversize fountain pen with 23kt palladium rhodium plated large Medium Dreamtouch nib. Arguably one of the most beautiful fountain pens ever made by Visconti. It is made from a solid block of magnificent variegated celluloid, with dark blue and ivoire-coloured swirls in a tan-brown coloured background, and its trim is palladium-plated. The celluloid cap and barrel are faceted, with the facets spiralling around the length of each, a feature of this beautiful Divina range. Pull and turn piston filler fountain pen…..the piston nob is pulled out from the bottom end of the barrel for effortless operation. Push and turn cap closure mechanism. New old stock. Mint in standard leatherette box. Length closed is 15cm, length open is 14cm, width at widest point on cap (excluding the clip) is 1.55cm, and weight empty is around 38g. Please note that the pen to be shipped to you will have a differing pattern to that shown in the photos…. however, overall the swirl pattern is quite busy and broadly similar from pen to pen. Also, the sterling silver spiral strips around the body will show tarnish and scuff/micro-scratch marks, normal for these pens and as supplied by Visconti — we do not polish these out, preferring to ship the pen with its patina exactly as supplied by Visconti. The Visconti 23kt palladium large Dreamtouch nib can be a joy to write with, provided it has been tuned properly. Unfortunately factory settings are not optimal for some fountain pens that are new “out of the box”, and occasionally tuning is required. After purchase and before sending each Visconti fountain pen fitted with a large Dreamtouch 23kt palladium nib, I will remove the nib unit, put it in my tester pen, and check (and adjust as necessary) to ensure it writes correctly. Then I will wash the nib unit through, clean it and put it back inside the purchased pen. In this way I can be sure the pen will write correctly. Some minor droplets or ink/water residue may become apparent around the nib or inside the barrel when the pen is received, as a result of air pressure changes during courier air transport. I will warrant the performance of the nib unit as a consequence of the aforementioned procedure. If the buyer prefers this procedure not be undertaken, a message to that effect should be left with the order. However, in such circumstances the writing performance shall not be warranted, and I will not accept returns on account of the writing performance of the nib.
